Jaspis = Man made stone originating from Germany. The hardest flint on the market. Throws a great spark and lasts a on an average of 80 shots or longer. Not recommended for competition shooting. Great for someone using their Flintlock for hunting.

Agate = Made in Germany. Your middle of the road flint. Not too hard – not too soft. Offered in cut or milled (which is the angle they cut them, same flint different angles.) Lasts for an average of around 40 shots. Good for both hunters and competition shooters.

English = Hand knapped flints made in England. Throws a good spark and is a much softer stone then the rest, which means your frizzen will last a lot longer (especially good for your surface hardened frizzens). On the flip side you’re only averaging at about 15-25 shots per flint so you will be replacing it more frequently. Great for both hunters and competition shooters.

At the end of the day its really personal preference. They all spark and that’s the point of the flint.

The RMC Accusporter has 1:28 twists for optimum performance.

The difference between closed peep and v-peep sights is the rear sight blade construction. They all provide the shooter with a precise window for sighting but are made differently to meet the shooters preferences. The closed peep allows the shooter to focus directly on the target when the v-peep sight on the other hand allows you to see more of the background behind your target.

The B.I.D. kit can be so useful in so many situations but some wonder how to operate it. Its easy! First, unscrew the plastic handle from the device. Then, screw in a new CO2 cartridge and put the handle back on. Add your desired tip to the brass fitting and you’re ready to operate it. Just pull the trigger and aim. If you wish to lock the device after use, there is a safety lock on the opposite side of the nozzle, simply stitch it up and it will be locked out.

If a load is lodged in the barrel, the best way to remove it is by using our B.I.D. kit and blowing it out, or you can use the good ol’ fashion ball puller attachment for your ramrod.

No, the ML1123644 loading stand is not designed for Ruger Old Army guns. Use the ML950 loading stand that is designed specifically for that model.

The best way to load your blackpowder revolver is by loading in your powder first, then a wonder wad, a bullet, and then a wonder seal on top. It is important that you use the correct sizes when shooting. The wonder seal protect against chain firing of the cylinder.

We Suggest anywhere from 70-80 (no more then 100) grains of FFF Goex blackpowder.

We recommend for the Accusporter one of two loads:

  1. Lightfield Alpha Gold 300 – It is a 300gr soft lead bullet perfect for deer hunting!
  2. Hornady XTP Bullet – It is a hollow point sabot 245gr 45cal bullet with 50cal sabot.  Great accuracy and stopping power.

A lot of this is preference but we here at RMC Ox-Yoke favor these two bullets with our flintlocks.
